about

Howardian is a New York City based art rock group fronted by Ian Vanek (Japanther) with contributions from a rotating cast of friends & musicians. Howardian is thick with technical poly rhythms, sticky piano driven melodies and sly lyrics. The resulting Hip-Hop informed pop rock songs are intended to get crowds moving and butts shaking.
Howardian's tracks feature fuzzy, distorted walls of sound and plenty of samples, all with a scuzzy garage-rock vibe. Current contributors include Mac Dawg, Kevin O’meara (Wham City, Dan Deacon, Video Hippos), Boots Riley (The Coup), Troy Marerro and Adam Amram (Ken South Rock.)

lyrics

I thought you knew it, turn up The Stones, if it's about us I turn it off the drums they played me, i'm just plain angry here at the table, yer a goddess in the way, yer a goddess in yer way. It's okay the way you said it, you've got them leggings and you smell of soap, maybe together we could saddle a horse trapped inside we could sew them oats, you've got them legs you smell of soap and if you get away i've gotta say that this fast pace is unsafe. i've been away for so many days that I don't know what i'm tryna say, hey Mickey Mantles am i bananas? I've got nothing more to say but i'm on my way, I said okay
